Vacation Scheme and Training Contract - 2025 - Higgs LLP

When recruiting trainees one of the many things we look for is relevant work experience because it indicates a genuine interest in pursuing a legal career based on an appreciation of the reality of legal work. If you are thinking of applying to Field Seymour Parkes as a trainee, we would encourage you to apply for work experience with us to gain a better understanding of what it will be like to be one of our trainee solicitors.Our Work Experience Programme runs every summer, and our upcoming 2025 programme will cover four days, providing you with a diverse insight and experience of law in practice.The dates for our 2025 Work Experience Programme are:<ul><li>16 – 19 June 2025</li><li>14 – 17 July 2025</li></ul>You will spend time with our Corporate, Business Services, Real Estate, Residential Property, Wills, Trusts and Estates and Family teams. As you can imagine, you’ll have an invaluable opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in different areas of law. You’ll be taking part in group activities, practical exercises, role plays, discussions and more. You’ll have the opportunity to network and really show your passion for law.The four day programme will be held at our office in Reading, giving you the opportunity to really get a good experience of what life is like at FSP.Applications for work experience placements are accepted from university students in their first year or above regardless of degree subject. Work experience - Field Seymour Parkes

The closing date for applications is 30th March 2025.We are now accepting applications for our vacation scheme in 2025.The vacation scheme takes place in our offices in Gerrards Cross over five days between June and September. It provides a great way to get to know the firm and experience working in a regional law firm. It is also a good opportunity for us to get to know you and we regularly invite vacation scheme candidates to join our paralegal or training contract assessment process.Our programme offers students the opportunity to rotate between our six practice groups. During your week you will benefit from:<ul><li>introductions to each team</li><li>multiple networking opportunities with partners, associates, trainees and other representatives from across the firm</li><li>work shadowing with junior lawyers in each practice group, and</li><li>undertaking a mix of administration and paralegal/trainee tasks.</li></ul>Applicants must be studying or have studied for a law degree. &nbsp;To apply applicants should complete the online application form which includes a CV and cover letter. Deadline: 17 January 2025Our two-week Vacation Schemes are designed to give students a challenging and rewarding experience, to develop skills and deepen knowledge of the law, while building networks with solicitors and other professionals in the field. This programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain an insight into life at TWM, to get a feel for what it’s like to work as a trainee lawyer at the firm and determine whether TWM might be a good fit for you.Getting to know usWe offer two Vacation Schemes, which take place during July and September 2025 in our Guildford office. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our teams of solicitors and contribute to real-life legal cases. You’ll also receive training and mentoring from experienced solicitors, including a variety of workshops covering topics across our various practice areas, and receive feedback and advice on your work and performance. Throughout your two-week placement at TWM, we’ll match you with a trainee buddy to help you settle in and answer any questions you may have.How will I be assessed?We’re looking for the next generation of partners and hope that this could be your first step on that path.
