The Practice Assistant will already be working at mid to Senior level for a law firm and seeking progression or a fresh challenge. You will ideally be working within the Practice area of Employment or have previous expertise, although consideration will be given to those who have experience in other practice areas and can demonstrate excellent transferable skills and aptitude. The ideal PA will need to be able to demonstrate working at Partner and Senior Associate level and be positive, proactive, and organised, with good attention to detail and able to take on a myriad of duties working to deadlines. The team cover a wide range of employment matters covering sports, media, charity and corporate, alongside individuals at senior executive level and are driven to achieve quick solutions for their client base. As a Senior Legal Secretary/Practice Assistant your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Effective and proactive diary management including planning and awareness of the Fee Earners workload. Setting up appointments andtravel arrangements as required</li><li>Processing applications, forms, and searches with minimal supervision</li><li>Opening and closing new client matters and carrying out due diligence checks. Preparing AML documentation and obtains relevantdocumentation from clients in a timely manner, as required by Fee Earners including conflict searches</li><li>Creating typed work of a high quality, formatting in accordance with house style, at high speed with accuracy and following internalguidelines</li><li>Providing assistance in the delivery of marketing communications, and records all business development meetings in InterAction</li><li>Providing excellent service to clients, both internal and external, in a timely and professional manner, presenting a positive image of the Firm at all times</li><li>Monthly billing and invoice preparation for the Fee Earners</li><li>Document production as required, proof-reading, track changes/amendments</li><li>Preparing both manual and electronic bundles for cases and court</li><li>Researching new clients/contacts and collating papers required for client meetings, and conducting basic research for the fee earners</li><li>Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and relevant third parties</li><li>Maintaining regular file management, to ensure all files are up to date, closed and archived, as appropriate and keeping accurate records ofall files and sending to off-site storage</li></ul>Personal Competencies:<ul><li>You will need to be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, delivering a high-quality and efficient service. Our client, an established law firm, is seeking a conveyancing secretary to support a very busy partner. The position is available to start immediately. Duties will include, opening files, performing searches and completion statements, post exchange completion administration, completing SDLT forms, communicating with clients and third parties and internal staff. Previous conveyancing experience is essential together with excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
