Day to day duties will involve legal research and drafting appropriate legal documents, notices, forms and advice notes as required, which protect the interests, income and reputation of Wirral Council. You will also undertake advocacy, attend upon Counsel and attend court as directed.Above all we are looking for individuals who can provide pragmatic and customer-focused advice on current legislation in relation to contracts and commercial matters, including statutory interpretation, for internal and external stakeholders as required. Whilst at the same time working towards the Professional Skills Course (PSC) final professional qualification.The successful candidate will work on their own initiative, be solution focused, pragmatic and escalate matters where appropriate. They will further show tact, diplomacy, empathy and political awareness with resilience, especially in dealing with competing and demanding pressures and potentially emotionally difficult situations and information. Trainee Solicitor - 2025 - Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council

I am looking to take on a solicitor apprentice in September, this is a good way to qualify as a solicitor without student debt whilst gaining experience in the areas of criminal and military law.&nbsp; The role will be 4 days per week, based in Liverpool City Centre and one day off for training which will be completed online. Salary for year one will be at minimum wage for an apprentice, this will increase to national minimum wage in year two.&nbsp; The successful candidate will come out with the following qualifications:&nbsp; Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship (after 13 Months)&nbsp; Level 5 Advanced Paralegal Apprenticeship (after a further 24 Months)&nbsp; Chartered Legal Executive Apprenticeship (after a further 18 Months) Accredited Police Station Representative (within the 2nd 24 months)&nbsp; This would count as qualifying work experience towards your SQE.&nbsp; To qualify as a solicitor SQE1 &amp; SQE 2 could be taken at this point.&nbsp; Must have GCSE Maths and English.
