Your Daily Quest: 🌎

As our Trainee Solicitor, you'll be at the heart of our legal operations, providing essential support and advice across the business, from senior leaders to sales and administration. You'll work closely with our Chief Operating Officer and European Finance Manager, all under the expert supervision of our Group Head of Legal and a comprehensive training program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Commercial Legal Advice: Negotiating contracts and NDAs, responding to internal legal queries, and assisting with customer negotiations. You'll also tackle insolvency issues, insurance, and billing queries.
  • Disputes Management: Handling debt claims with our credit control and sales admin teams, managing small claims litigation, and engaging with external debt collection agencies and legal advisers. You'll manage cases end-to-end, including official filings, drafting documents, gathering information, and attending court proceedings.
  • Corporate & M&A Support: Assisting with post-acquisition onboarding for M&A deals and coordinating with external resources for essential legal documentation.
  • Compliance & Research: Staying up-to-date with relevant Telecoms, IoT (including Ofcom consultations), and other regulatory requirements, and providing compliance information to customers.
  • Intellectual Property & Copyright: Helping to maintain our trademark portfolio and addressing other intellectual property matters.
  • Data Protection: Supporting the Group Data Protection Officer with data impact assessments, incident reports, customer queries, and ensuring general compliance with Data Protection Laws.
  • Company Secretarial: Assisting with maintaining company secretarial files and registrations across our global entities.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Legal Foundation: You've successfully completed the LPC or equivalent qualifications for training in England and Wales and meet the SRA's character and suitability requirements.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ideally, you bring a background in commercial contract law, experience with commercial disputes and claims, and knowledge of associated legal processes.
  • Communication Pro: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Organized Multi-Tasker: You can skillfully manage multiple tasks or caseloads, keeping everything on track.
  • Sharp Eye for Detail: Your good attention to detail allows you to carefully analyze files and data.
  • Curious Researcher: You have strong legal research skills and a genuine desire to deepen your understanding of the law.
